Phở was born in Northern Vietnam during the mid-1880s. The dish was heavily influenced by both Chinese and French cooking. Today there are almost 2,000 phở restaurants spread across the
United States and Canada.
Ramen consists of Chinese-style wheat noodles served in a meat- or fish-based broth, often flavored with soy sauce or miso, and
uses toppings such as sliced pork, and scallions.
